FEATURES OF AMIKACIN 500MG INJECTION:

1. Composition:
   Each vial contains Amikacin Sulphate equivalent to Amikacin 500 mg.

2. Class:
   Aminoglycoside antibiotic.

3. Mechanism of Action:
   Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to cell death.

4. Spectrum of Activity:
   Broad-spectrum — effective against Gram-negative bacteria (e.g., E. coli, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella, Proteus) and some Gram-positive organisms (e.g., Staphylococcus aureus).

5. Indications:
   Used in the treatment of severe bacterial infections such as:

   • Respiratory tract infections

   • Urinary tract infections

   • Intra-abdominal infections

   • Bone and joint infections

   • Septicemia

   • Skin and soft tissue infections

6. Dosage Form:
   Sterile injection for intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) administration.

7. Onset & Duration:
   Rapid onset of action with a relatively short plasma half-life.

8. Storage:
   Store below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze.
